You're right, SyCoREAPER. Thanks. I mainly use the app to automate some smart lights. My Echo Dot is the hub as well as my alarm clock, but I rarely use any voice features. The app on the tablet is working better now (still can't add any devices), and on the Chromebook it's still working fine.
