Just did a test on my charge with 4G and 3G + Wi-FI. Both the icons appear either way. I would guess it is just the way the charge is made, rest assured it would appear it is only pulling data from Wi-Fi however.

The Otter Box defender is what I have on my charge, so far I've dropped it twice. May be kind of bulky but I got large hands so no problem for me. I feel I could run this sucker over with my car and it would be just fine. I recommended it.

I activated a droid on my sisters Verizon account today for her. It was disappointing to find that they no longer offer unlimited data for $30 a month its now a 2GB plan. Sad day for new Verizon customers, glad I still have my unlimited plan!
