    New EVO Owner..Need some advise

Welcome and you will definitely find that the Evo really is far more polished than the Pre was. It will take you a few days but you will definitely enjoy it as your new phone. Would check out SwiftKey if you are looking for a good keyboard which does a great job of predicting words, there is a...

    Observation on the Evo

Probably correct on this observation since the Evo is complete instead of with WebOS being so bareboned out of the box that we needed to get anything and everything we could to bring it up to date somewhat comparable to other phones. I still haven't checked for an update because I haven't been...

    Possible new EVO owner!

I have the Otterbox Commuter case and carry in my front and back pockets without any issues, great case for the phone well worth the price. Amazon has them on sale at the moment. Will have to look into the ROM to see if it is worth it,, but it sound like it might be.

    Just coming over from webOS

Welcome to the dark side, lol. I also came from the WebOS/Pre and was on Precentral since I had the phone. Also made the switch to the Evo and can honestly say that I don't regret it one bit(ok, miss the universal search where I could just start typing and it would bring everything up) but...

    Newbie to smart phone world

Welcome to the forum and enjoy the new phone. I just the Evo myself a week ago and there OS a ton of great information by searching. If you can't find something, there are plenty people that are happy to help. Was the same way on some of the sister sites to this one.

    Blockbuster app

My guess is that somebody got paid a few bucks to put the blockbuster app on the update considering that the are just about out of business and it OS their last ditch effort to get some business. Definitely won't be using it.

PALM TREO 680 User here, DESPERATELY looking for an alternative

I just got the Evo with the radio shack $99 deal and it is well worth it. You will not be disappointed with the choice. I came from the Pre because I loved the ease of use of the OS, but the hardware was always the major issue. Nothing like that with the Evo and the learning curve isn't that...

    New User for New Year

Hi all, just got an Evo a few days ago and loving it so far. Had a Pre before and was a big Precentral user so looking forward to getting great information and contributing to AC as well. Also wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Now you're on Android, what platform did you come from?

I came from Palm, had the Pre. Definitely liking the Evo and won't be going back soon unless there is a revolutionary device. The OS was great but the hardware really was lacking.

    new to htc evo

Hey Verwon, are you having post Pre anxiety...think you meant when your Evo arrives. I had to laugh since I am waiting for my Evo as well, damn weather up north ended up delaying it. As you are, I am running through this thread noting the different things are a must have out of the gate...

Palm Pre Guy who wants to get an Evo but isnt too sure..Help needed.

Greetings all you post Pre users...I also took advantage of the Radio Shack deal, will be getting my Evo in the next few days. I had the Pre from Day 1 and loved WebOS, just the hardware sucked. Will definitely need to get used to the new system, but I think the transition shouldn't be too...
