After the "wonderful" update from sprint I got a Blockbuster app which doesnt work and I can't uninstall!!

You wont be able to get rid of it unless if root. It came with the update.

They also added Kindle. Wish I could get rid of both. They did add Swype which is positive.

Sprint rep told me that it wasnt them that included nova, kindle and blockbuster. It was HTC.

I love the blockbuster app we can finally buy movies or download them to ur phone

I tried their mail service, when it first started and it was the worst thing I've ever dealt with. It took them a week to ship a movie!!!

I use NF and have a one day turnaround, so I average 6 movies a week, with them.

The blockbuster and nova apps finally pushed me over the edge about rooting.
Blockbuster and Nova are now gone. :)

But Sprint allowed that update to be pushed out over their network and was aware of what was in the update.

My guess is that somebody got paid a few bucks to put the blockbuster app on the update considering that the are just about out of business and it OS their last ditch effort to get some business. Definitely won't be using it.

I most definitely won't ever be doing business with blockbuster after I had their app shoved down my throat. If I had wanted the app I would have downloaded it myself.

I fell the same way about gameloft to, I still have to send them some hate mail on what I think about their business practices. gameloft will never see a dime of my money.

Could you pm me or post (your call) with what program you go rid of those with and how you go ride of them? I already know you have to root, I know some programs have more than 1 way of removing apps.

Ok, so bluckbuster takes up a whopping 472kb. Go into menu settings applications and force stop it. No more problem.

lol you guys are funny, as said it takes up very little space and you dont even know its there unless you actually open it. maybe an iphone is better suited to you guys lol

Apparently it seems like you dont know that it starts up all by itself again.

Actually, I think that every time you open up the app, it starts the update service, and then will periodically update. So on the rare occasions that I open up the Blockbuster app, I go to settings and "cancel update service". Then it doesn't pop up again.

If you start the application then it will start each and every time since there is no way to turn it off without FC'ing it and never openning the app again.

That just stops it from running and using up system resources. It doesn't actually remove it from your phone and free up the space it used to install it. That's the big picture here. The EVO only has like a Gig of internal space and they are filling that up with Bloatware people do not want. Now if there was an option to move those Apps to the SD card to free up space on the phone, that would be a whole different story.
