Pixel 2 XL finally beat iPhone X at something.

bahahahahahahahahahaha Of course not. iVerge will never say bad things about Apple but will go very, very far out of their way to say bad things about anyone else.

    Battery Life Thread

That's why people also post their battery graph, which shows a timeline. If you try to cheat, it'll be obvious in the graph.

Change your phone number? Did you just sign in?

Had it happen to me. I went through the prompts twice, but after that just swiped the notification away. Haven't seen it since.

    Don't like the 2XL's screen?

This is not universally true, because there definitely have been real problems. But I really feel that a lot of the "reports" are from Apple/Samsung fans who are just trolling so they can feel better about their brand of preference. They were going on and on and on about the P2XL having the...

PSA: "Bluegate" is contagious (iPhone X)

Re: PSA: "Bluegate" is contagious... Honestly, it won't be many. Apple is a fierce company, and they tend not to send review units to reviewers that point out issues or say anything negative. If you don't gush over it, you risk your review unit next year. Just one of many, many, many reasons...

Why pay $200 more for the 2 XL?

uh...what's "best" for you may not be "best" for anyone else, so please don't assert your opinion as fact. Spending $1500 for a phone? Come on. You can get a Pixel 2 XL and a Pixel 2 for that price. As for it being "future proof" - Apple says that every year. And then the next year, something...

How to Get Nexus 6P to automatically set up VPN without asking when using Project FI

From my understanding there isn't. The VPN is basically an extra layer of security on an insecure (but otherwise quality) network. Since this essentially allows Google to set up the secure connection, you have to approve it manually every time.

No Oreo Update Yet - On MetroPCS

After downloading the update to your computer, the process takes a whopping 3 commands and 15 minutes, most of which is automated.

No Oreo Update Yet - On MetroPCS

You could sideload it if you wanted to. But I'd just talk to Fi support about that. Out of curiosity: what happens if you tap the "Check for updates" button?

N6P to the new Pixel XL 2

I obviously can't speak to the other points, but the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are slated for 3 years of full support, which means Android Oreo (launch OS), Android P (2018), Android Q (2019), and Android R (2020), so that's 3 full OS iterations after Android Oreo.

N6P to the new Pixel XL 2

True, but expect the prices on 6P to come down dramatically as more people put theirs up for sale. It's about $200 now on Swappa, but I'd expect it to drop to about $150 anyway - everyone wants to sell their 6P for some upgrade cash, but there aren't that many 6P buyers at this point.

The new pixel launcher looks horrible

You can definitely move it. At the very least, you can get a different launcher like Nova and that's that.

N6P to the new Pixel XL 2

I'm already pretty much sold on the Pixel 2 XL. I tried talking to Fi customer service about a potential trade-in for my Nexus 6P to upgrade to a new Pixel 2 XL, and the rep strongly hinted there will be a nice upgrade path available for Fi subscribers.
