sounds like you have two metal contacts contacting each other inside the headphone jack. If you never put anything in there, it might be faulty. If something accidentally got in there, you might be able to get it out by blowing on it, or sticking a headphone plug in there.

It is not normal for it to only last 5 minutes. You unfortunately have a faulty battery. Just to make sure, you can charge it up on a different charger (to ensure it's fully charged) and it it still only lasts 5 minutes, there's no question about it. It can only be a hardware problem.

You can click the menu button, and then it says "Accounts (All calendars)" and you can choose checkmarks to select which calendars you want it to show.

Go to settings / security. You can set a screen lock pattern, and I thought you could do passwords, but I don't see anything like that now in my phone.
