When you say broken, do you mean while talking to someone on the phone?

Most likely adb sideload of the OTA or he/she flashed the factory image to the phone.

Well he ended up doing a factory reset on the phone and that fixed the issue for him. What exactly could have done it is beyond me, but based on the Google forums, it's a known issue. Posted via the Android Central App

We tried it here at work and all the apps that should have the cast button do on my 6P, while his phone doesn't show the cast button on any app expect YouTube.

He's done all of that and still the same result. It's an odd bug. Not sure what else to try. Posted via the Android Central App

You'll need to be on a computer in order to sideload it through adb. Unless your decrypted, the "sdcard" won't mount and will fail.

Try Upsie. Far cheaper for coverage and their support responds fast, especially on Twitter. That's what I'm using for my 6P.
