I've looked over several threads about this ongoing problem but found nothing definite. Why does GPM randomly pause songs? It happens when I'm using BT headphones or the BT car connection but doesn't seem to be a data issue.

We used to be able to link speakers when using Play Music but an update months ago broke that feature. Several PM updates later, it's still not working. Are there any workarounds or other info available?

Waiting isn't a problem as long as the N4 keeps plugging along. I briefly played with an N8 today and wasn't really impressed, though the specs are impressive on paper. The silo form factor may take a bit of getting used to aesthetically too.

I would be very tempted to root, assuming it's an easy enough process, in order to install an ad-blocker, delete bloatware like Samsung's "me too!" apps, and to map Google Assistant to the button currently wasted on Bixby.

Thanks for that, especially the VZW Pixel warning. I hadn't looked into it but had planned on buying through Google if I went that direction. I hope that's still an option for avoiding the worst of the bloat.
