    Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

I combined two consecutive comments into one post. Can't I delete this one? I don't see an option for that. Mouse-over near edit shows Edit/Delete message, but only Edit is available, not Delete.

    Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

I am hopfully hours away from receiving my pre-order tablet via UPS. I am anxious to see if this batch has the same issue as the retail versions. If it doesn't, I guess I will be glad I didn't cancel my order. I suggest anyone else buying one retail open it right there in the store in front...

    Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

Gosh, I read the first post again and I think I completely misunderstood what the problem is. I think these are possible causes for the problem: 1) The glass is too large for the case and, since the ends are glued securely and giving no quarter, it's bowing the glass upwards in the middle...

    Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

You are probably right. It sounds like a design flaw that relies entirely too much on glue. I wonder what those iFix folks have to say about it. They are the ones who took one completelty apart to judge it's "fixability" score. They said it seemed well constructed. They might have a...

    Nexus 7 Glass Seperation

There have been record temperatures all over the US. Perhaps a batch of these tablets sat in a non-regulated warehouse where it got really hot or perhaps were even stored on their sides instead of on their backs. This might sound kind of harsh, but I'll bet if you warm the entire tablet to...

My apology letter from The Googles

Google should have packaged the tablets to withstand a plane crash. If I open it and find that's not the case, I'm sending it back. ;)

My apology letter from The Googles

I just re-checked my tracking number and the tablet is supposed to arrive tomorrow(Tuesday) instead of Wednesday. It's almost as if UPS is taking up the slack left by Google's irresponsible announcement that they had shipped the order last Friday when all they actually did was slather on a...

My apology letter from The Googles

Thank you, Tostler, for the kind words at the end. However, I wish I could find a copy of what I read that stated pre-ordered Google tablets would be shipped by mid-July and retail stores would offer them by the end of July or early August. If they had stated that retail outlets would carry...

My apology letter from The Googles

Dear Fred, Mr. Google here. A funny thing just happened. Mrs. Google rang the dinner bell, calling me into the house for dinner. But, when I finally got in here, it turns out she had only turned the oven on and dinner was nowhere near being ready! Isn't that hilarious? LOL Anyway, I...

US release date could be July 12th!

Since it is now noon Wednesday, I assume you mean LAST Wednesday (the 4th?). If it's in a box waiting to be shipped, I wonder what the freakin' holdup is? They probably want to ship as many as possible at the same as....possible. They must be anticipating some kind of outcry from buyers if...

    Waiting for Local Storage

To be honest, I used a Toshiba Thrive to transport an SD card around since the day I got the tablet, but I could never get the OS to really make use of the little guy. It would have been nice if Google Music could have downloaded my music to the card instead of eating up the internal memory...

    8gb or 16gb

Check out this article. I hope this is permitted. I don't have much experience in forums. The Nexus 7 cost Google $184 to build

    8gb or 16gb

I opted for the 16 because of the lack of an SD slot and, since this is smaller, I may actually use it to listen to music on the go. I can' do that easily with my giant 10-inch Toshiba Thrive. It annoys me that it apparently only costs them about $8 more to install 16GB instead of 8GB, but...
