HTC One: Wondering if HTC will release a maintenance update to fix KitKat problems

Surely the biggest problem which no ones mentioned on this thread yet is the fact that you can't write to or delete anything from the sd card using a file manager app on an HTC m8 because of kitkat. The problem would be solved if HTC had their own stock file manager but for some bizarre reason...

Can anyone help me sort out these HTC One (M8) issues

Re: Can anyone help me sort out these HTC M8 issues Re question 2. I've read elsewhere that kitkat has imposed restrictions on what you can move to the sd card when using something like a file manager app (God knows why and why doesn't HTC have it's own stock file manager) You can move things...

Does the M8 require GPS to update the weather app?

No. My weather updates show in the lock screen with gps disabled.

Facebook birthday sync and HTC m8

Hi, I think this is a Facebook problem more than an m8 one but anyway. When I sync Facebook birthdays /events it works but my calendar only shows about 60% of the birthdays listed on the birthday list on Facebook itself. The same thing happens with any third party app. I cannot find anything...

    Go launcher transfer settings

Thank you very much indeed. Just what I needed. I'm not sure what advantage those back up apps have over the HTC cloud backup is though. I've also yet to find any backup program that actually backs up the whole phone. I always just get my google apps installed from the google play cloud but all...

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

By the way the ufocus thing can be very good (other times it just doesn't really work) The picture of the cat is again straight from the camera with no processing other than putting the focus on the cats head. Also I could never get this quality of light with the s4. I also have a feeling that...

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

Yes true. But the trouble is those people are most people. I'd like to think the worries about the m8 camera will go when people can see the quality of the shots on the camera. But most people think 'it has to have the biggest amount of pixels I can get' and won't even bother looking.

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

Well thanks but bear in mind the original pic is 1.6 MB and the one posted here is about 250kb you'll get an idea of how much better the actual original shot is in terms of resolution and clarity. The camera on the m8 is excellent. It's such a shame so many people have been almost brainwashed...

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

Hmm the pics on the phone are way clearer than the dumbed down ones this site has posted. You'll have to take my word for it :)

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

I've also got a couple of erm 'not award winning' photos ;) which show off the low light capability and the detail of the camera. Neither shot has had any processing at all. The one at the cafe I also took a version of with the s4 which was dark and grainy. The HTC cafe shot is lovely and clear...

    HTC One (M8) camera discussion

I really don't understand people who are put off by the 'lack' of pixels in the camera. No one ever prints out pictures. And if they do they're normally 6x4 which will be fine for the m8. If you do print out large prints then yes it's an issue But virtually no one does. People get put off...

    Go launcher transfer settings

Hi. I know you can do a backup of go launcher under 'backup and restore' to restore settings and preferences on a device you're currently using. But what about saving all those settings to be restored onto another new device? Is it possible? Thanks very much

    S4 Proximity sensor issue

I also had this problem and also sorted it by blowing (with a straw) it's annoying that such a high tech phone is subject to such a lo tech problem but at least it seems easily fixable.
