Since 5.1 during calls my screen goes black, and does not wake up until the other person hangs up. It's like it thinks I have it up to my ear, but I don't. So I can't hang up, I can't use the dial pad, I can't see alerts, nothing. I have heard it could be my screen protector, bit I didn't have...

I bought my Nexus 6 from Google Play so I should have 5.1 already right? But it keeps saying my device is up to date at 5.0.1. I'm on Fido. Does that make a difference? I tried removing my SIM and checking for the update, but no dice. Any advice? I'd really rather not root my phone. Thanks...
