My daughter is having a similar problem with her S8 so I too would like to hear a suggested fix for this.

The installation must have been incomplete for that to happen. As to how to fix it, I have no idea.

You were right, Google Home was what I was missing. I can easily view YouTube videos although viewing photos is unpleasant. They are often sideways and grainy.

I use Samsung Pay all the time where vendors machines accept tap. Previously I used Google Pay. I don't understand all the differences but with Samsung Pay I never turn on NFC. With Google I was constantly turning it on an off.

I still use the S9 but from my experience with this product and what I've heard about the S10, I agree with all of your comments. Most of all, I agree that the fingerprint reader should be on the back. It's the most natural place for it and that's where my finger lands when I pick up the phone...

Personally I don't get why anyone would want gestures. I like to see what I'm pressing or at least where on the screen the actual button is.

Unlocked S9 on Rogers in Canada. I did go into settings to manually check for updates rather than receiving a notification but I'm sure that would only speed it up a day or two. I've never heard of Canada getting an update before the States so something must be up with your carrier. Mine...

I just updated to Pie on my Samsung S9. A couple of app buttons look a bit different but otherwise I don't really see a difference. Does anyone have a good link to somewhere that explains what's new, if anything is new?

I went from the S8 to the S9 and found very little difference. The main change was the finger print reader at the back. The S8's reader was beside the camera and the S9's is below the camera. It took my finger a while to develop the muscle memory but now I get fewer finger prints on the camera...
