It sounds like you had a pretty bad experience and that sucks. At this point why not just try the phone? If you like it keep it, if not send it back. Why make yourself settle for another phone you may not like as much just because you had a bad experience with the order process. Its not the end...

Yes. There is zero point to a Google play edition. There will not be one. The X has stock android with a couple extra features that make it the phone it is.

I just replaced my gnex with the moto x and agree with others that the camera is a big upgrade. In good light the moto x is vastly superior. In low light as others have said the moto x let's in too much light and can make for grainy photos. But its a big upgrade from the gnex hands down...

I ordered a verizon moto x through motomaker. Came with Sim installed. Took two minutes to activate through a phone automation service. Painless.

I've also had zero issues after the update. While a few people have had legit issues as always happens after any update most of the 'issues' are people just not knowing the changes made in KitKat or looking for nexus only features. If you're getting a new phone it will either come with KitKat or...
