Actually, he's asking about the sensors on the *back* of the phone, next the the camera flash-light. The light/proximity/gesture sensors are on the front of the phone. I *also* am trying to learn the answer to this question; the S5 user manual does not appear to answer this.

Ahhh... that makes sense. I *didn't* remove the battery after it fell in the water, in fact I never removed it at all. Everything else in the phone still works, but I'm wondering if the antenna has gotten corroded or something??? sigh...
