what game engine do you use for your android game?

libGDX - continually impressed with feature set. Am using Genymotion for my emulator - makes in-game video a breeze but audio can be flaky sometimes. For music/sounds I use LMMS -it's just fun to play with.

What do you do when boredom strike you?

@ Synycalwon - nice pics - the last one sure is a party animal. I'd say that the cat is usually in charge? When boredom strikes - I get outside and go for a walk - it's a big world out there and boredom vanishes like ice-cream at a birthday party.

Play Store Ratings - spring board to stardom or millstone of doom?

Hi Thanks for the comment. I think I was just surprised that someone who just didn't like a game would take the time to go back to the store listing to give it a 1 star. Knowing how much effort goes into creating and releasing a game, I wouldn't give someone 1 star just because I didn't like...

Play Store Ratings - spring board to stardom or millstone of doom?

Hi everyone. I'm interested to know about your experiences and feelings about app rating systems. Obviously they are a necessary and unavoidable feedback system but can they be more of a help or hindrance for smaller indie devs? Here's my scenario: I have a game on Play Store - Monkey Battle...

    [GAME][FREE][3.0+] SpaceDodge

Hi Bryan Green Guppy here - posting this here as well as in my Poodle Jump thread in case you don't go back there. Realised you posted on Play Store as well - thanks for that. Have downloaded SpaceDodge. I played it on an Acer A500 10.1" tablet. Game play is smooth and responsive. However...

    [FREE] Poodle Jump

Hi Bryan Realised you posted on Play Store as well - thanks for that. Have downloaded SpaceDodge. I played it on an Acer A500 10.1" tablet. Game play is smooth and responsive. However there is a random flickering horizontal line that moves down the screen - I am guessing it is a background join...

    [FREE] Poodle Jump

Hi Thanks for checking my game out. I might have a think about the poodle drawing - it was kind of the point to have it look different from the photo stuff. I will be supporting this game with a bunch of power-ups (some of which will be in the "WTF?" category ) and additional enemies in...

    [FREE] Poodle Jump

Hi Just released Poodle Jump - my version of Doodle Jump but with Poodles and poodle associated items. Yeah - I know there are a zillion Doodle Clones and even a couple of Poodlers - but it is just a bit of fun and completely free. I'd had it half finished as a learning project using the Super...

what game engine do you use for your android game?

Hi I use libGDX. I don't use the Scene2D stuff - it adds a layer of complication to things IMHO - would be good for puzzler/tile type games I would imagine though. They have a new project set-up process using Gradle which I like - allows some of the libGDX framework to be removed that results...

    Monkees!!!

Hi Droiders Been a while since I've been logged in - dealing with issues around fixing our house after 2010/2011 earthquakes here. Monkees has had to be renamed Monkey Battle after some issues around marketing. Links to it on Play store here: Free Version...

[Banana Rocks] My new game, try it and have fun! ;)

Hi Groovy game - I like the banana split!!!! The further you get in the game the fatter the banana should get like the real Elvis as he got older - maybe he could start wearing a cape too. ;) Good luck with marketing it. Green Guppy P.S. Bananas Rock!!!!!!

    Monkees!!!

Hi again. Forgot to mention I have altered the free game - unlocked a couple more features and allow 2 player matches now as well as single player. Although there is a short timeout period between 2 player matches to encourage buying the full version. The chicken projectile has been unleashed...

    Monkees!!!

Hi snapserve Thanks for taking a look. Seem to be getting a reasonable number of downloads of the free version across a few stores but haven't actually sold much yet. It would appear that freemium is the expected model these days but this sort of game doesn't really lend itself easily to that...

    Monkees!!!

Re: Monkees Update Yeah, Gorillas was pretty cool back then - I had many a happy hour fiddling with the trajectory calcs and gravity. Nibbles was also a good QBasic game to play around with. There are still people playing around with QBasic today - there are some pretty impressive games created...
