You mention that 36% of your battery usage is the display and that you keep the brightness at 100%. I am pretty sure that this is big reason for your lousy battery life.

I went into Best Buy this morning and compared the pixel 5 with the 4a5g. To my untrained ears the 4a5g sounded much better. Of course no smartphone speakers sound very good. However, the pixel 5 sounded more like the speakers on a 10 year old flip phone to me.

Because of the unstable economy Google probably didn't produce a lot of phones to begin with.

If it ever happens, which I tend to doubt at this point, it certainly isn't a priority for Motorola. At this point, I won't buy another Motorola phone because of their failure to carry through on their promised upgrade.

For some reason the location of NFC is different on Motorola phones. On most phones it is in the middle of the phone. For whatever reason Motorola puts it on the top.

I have the unlocked version on T-Mobile. I am pretty sure that WIFI calling is carrier specific. It might not work on other carriers, especially Verizon.

Motorola says that the Z series phones should get 2 system updates. If Motorola follows through with this promise the Z2 play should get Pie, but probably not until next spring at the earliest. An interesting fact, the original Z play got Oreo 2 months before the Z2 Play.

If you read the reviews you can see that a lot of people turned that feature off and got better performance as a result. It is a $400 router, you can turn the smart technology feature off and configure it the way you want to.

If you root the device apparently it is extremely easy to enable Miracast by editing the build.prop file. I bet the decision has something to do with Motorola having to pay a licensing fee to use it.

This really isn't accurate. Chromecast is a much better protocol than Miracast. All that Miracast does is mirror your phone to your television. My experience is that it doesn't do this very well with the audio often out of sync with the video and buffering is a common problem. Chromecast works...
