If it ever happens, which I tend to doubt at this point, it certainly isn't a priority for Motorola. At this point, I won't buy another Motorola phone because of their failure to carry through on their promised upgrade.

Fully agreed. This phone was a very good deal at sub $200 earlier this year, but frigging android 10 is out since months ago and we're still waiting on android 9. Inexcusable.

I had a X 2014, G4 and then a Z2Play. Gave up waiting in April last year. Loved all my Moto phones, I moved to Oneplus in April Miss my Moto gestures but I can't have a phone that has had zero feature updates in nearly 2 years!
The Moto x went the same way.
Great hardware, great value no support at all.
