OK, thanks for the info. I guess we can mark this thread as solved as the original question seems to be resolved. Appreciate your help!

Verizon Galaxy J3 V change voicemail alert sound

I actually got the Alert sound and visual notification of new voicemail working but it cost an hour with Verizon support to do it. Painful. :-\ Don't think it had anything to do with Android, more a Verizon problem.

Verizon Galaxy J3 V change voicemail alert sound

More shows: Verizon Cloud Clear recent file history Conceal hidden files I did install Total Commander but then uninstalled as it looks like a steep learning curve to figure out how to use it properly. Any tutorials or guides you can recommend for it?

Verizon Galaxy J3 V change voicemail alert sound

As requested screenshots posted. First is My Files home screen, second is Device Storage home. Yes, the custom tone did play as a preview.

Verizon Galaxy J3 V change voicemail alert sound

Thanks for the reply. My Galaxy J3 V didn't have anything nearly approaching the folder structure shown in the guide. I only have DCIM, Android and Samsung showing up in My Files>Device Storage with no Notifications folder visible in any of them. I was able to actually get the audio file I...

    Apps updates? Is it necessary?

I've installed the CCleaner app. Other than giving me a lot of tools to analyze apps, storage, system, etc., does it really do a better job of cleaning than the Android builtin cleaner in Smart Manager?

    Apps updates? Is it necessary?

Thanks for the replies. I've used CCleaner on my PCs for years. Is it effective for Android? Does it have a large footprint (internal storage issues again)?

    Apps updates? Is it necessary?

First time tablet owner and Android newbie. I've had my Galaxy Tab A 8.0 about one month now and I'm slowly getting the hang of using it and how to navigate Android. Android version is 6.01. After using it for a week I found that all of the pre-installed apps auto-updated. My internal storage...

Thanks for the clarification. The learning curve for Android is leveling out a bit thanks to replies I have seen here! I do have Knox pre-installed and am using it. I have a question about the settings for Knox. As the screenshot below shows the toggle switch for Knox active protection is set...

Thanks for the reply. A little confused by your post. I do not have a phone, I have a Galaxy Tab A 8.0" tablet. The only security that I have seen on the tablet is Knox Basic. No Lookout installed, at least that I can see. What is Samsung +? Again, I do not see it as an app on my device.

Thanks for the info. I'll investigate. Still hoping someone has a recommendation about using either Norton or Bitdefender mobile security. I have multiple device licenses so I wouldn't have to purchase either one. I'm leaning towards Bitdefender as it has much less system impact when scanning...

Moving files from a USB thumb drive to an internal SD card on a Tab A 8.0

Updating my OP. Well, as usual, if I poke around enough in an OS I usually figure things out. :) I didn't realize that when I was looking at files on the USB thumb drive in My Files, if I didn't see check boxes next to the file name that I could press and hold the file names and the check...

Moving files from a USB thumb drive to an internal SD card on a Tab A 8.0

As I forewarned in a previous post I'm a first time tablet owner (Galaxy Tab A 8.0") so I will have many questions! :) I'm slowly but surely figuring out the tablet's configurations and usage. Not having any Android prior knowledge (I don't have a smartphone either! I'm an old geezer!) it's a...

Thanks for the reply and information. Most of the cautions you listed have been a regular routine with me for many years. With few exceptions the old saw "you get what you pay for" applies to "free" programs, utilities and apps. If you just take a little time, usually less than an hour, to...

I just purchased the Galaxy Tab A 8.0" and anxiously awaiting it's arrival. As stated this is my first tablet. I do not have a smartphone either (old geezer!;)) so a totally new experience for me. I do have 4 computers, 3 PC's and a Mac so at least I have some experience with getting "under the...
