As a follow-up, this is what the tab in Chrome looks like when it stops mirroring and ONLY plays on the TV: I can't get this to happen with my Shield. It's always stuck in mirror mode, so the video on the TV sucks. Choppy, etc.

With a dedicated Chromecast device plugged into my TV, whenever I cast from my Chrome browser on my Linux laptop (over WiFi), the video will change modes automatically so it ONLY appears on my TV. Which is much better (less lag). However, with my Shield, when I Chromecast from the same Chrome...
