    What do you mean by brick the phone? Failing all that, it might be worth re-flashing the firmware, not just factory reset, but re-installing it completely

    Anyone else tired of the internet dissing the fingerprint scanner?

    It really isn't an ergonomic way to use a fingerprint scanner on a phone, compared to simply holding your finger on the button. Swiping is awkward, and it isn't as reliable as I'd like. It's not that the scanner is useless, more that it's just 1st generation stuff.

    S5 owners with Marshmallow - how is it?

    +1 on the fingerprint scanner. I flashed an AOSP rom when they figured out the fingerprint scanner, and even it is an improvement over stock Samsung. When marshmallow comes out for the 900I, I will definitely be using the stock rom again

    Dead battery is a possibility, or there is a connection that has been knocked loose because of the drops, in which case, things become a little more complicated
