I did same thing and don't miss the Apple crap. As for texting download textra, it saved me. You can add custom notifications per user as well. For the lock screen I am using CM Locker and it works great. Posted via the Android Central App

I use textra and just changed my size send and receive to 600 and it's working now. Not a fan of the stock or hangouts and was having same issue tonight. Posted via the Android Central App
