AT&T is GSM/HSPA+/LTE. Unfortunately they call HSPA+ 4G when it's not really. If you're in an area without LTE it will still get HSPA and thus data. Verizon users with the N7 will only have data coverage where there's LTE (almost everywhere).

It's LTE and HSPA+, no CDMA. So fallbacks on AT&T and T-Mobile but nothing on Verizon.

It's more complicated than that. Wimax and WiFi are not that similar except by name. Wimax transmits over a very long range and this requires more power. It also uses much more sophisticated modulation and requires more cpu.

Sadly not for me. I think Sprint takes longer due to wimax. On a positive note, my new Evo 4g LTE is waiting for me at home.

It's actually more than that. The Snapdragon processor needs to support the signal processing necessary to handle LTE (this is why the Tegra was not used in the US versions of the One X). WiMax and LTE use different modulation techniques for bandwidth and power consumption. Also Sprint's LTE...
