Well, it was just a thought. I've been doing fine going to contacts & typing 1st part the name, but thought I'd try speed dial to see if I liked it. I guess I made a problem out of a non-problem. My bad idea has been shot down. Thanks for your comments.

I've never used speed dial on my android, so I decided to set it up & captured the screen showing those few numbers/names. Of course, that was saved in Gallery. I'd like to put an icon/link (whatever it's called) on my home screen to that Gallery image, so that I can know who's who when I want...

Most apps were pre-loaded on my phone. I've installed and/or used very few of them. Can I set a default notification sound for all of them at once or do I have to set each one individually?
