AC Question

Occasionally, my Samsung Galaxy S5 will give a notification sound (usually my Messages notification), but I cannot determine what caused the notification. Verizon store just says "maybe an app was updated". It's very annoying!

Maybe I should turn off all notifications via Settings/Sounds & Notifications/App Notifications . Is there a (quick & easy) way to turn them all off at once? Then I could turn back on those that are important to me.

My BIG concern is that, thru ignorance of what all the settings mean, I'll miss some things that are very important & should be turned back on.

Any suggestions?

Many apps will let you pick the sound for their notifications.
In the phone settings, pick the default notification sound.
Then change the other apps sounds to something other than that sound.

Most apps were pre-loaded on my phone. I've installed and/or used very few of them. Can I set a default notification sound for all of them at once or do I have to set each one individually?

Your email app uses either the default notification sound of the phone (see the phone's Settings app) or it will let you pick your own sound for all email notifications, depending on which email app you are using.
