What's the latest opinion on screen brightness?

Because I have clocked my Droid, I am a little more sensitive to the power drain on my Droid. I have finally set on leaving my backlight set on 10% and have disabled auto brightness. This is normally too low in most situations, but I have resolved that with a wonderful app called Screebl...

    Album Art Not showing

Yeah, I agree. I use Album Art Grabber and then save it to SD in case I should ever need it again. It is drop dead easy and you don't even have to think about it.

Motorola Droid won't mount or adb...

You don't need to do any of that from the computer. That is the old, hard way of doing things. Follow the advice of Jared DiPane above and just go to Droidmod.org on your phone and download the dmupdater.apk and load it directly on your phone. It will automatically create all the correct...

Any way to set AutoText or something?

With the Droid, you can do something like that by going to Settings > Language & Keyboard > User Dictionary, which will allow you to add item that will be included in the corrections. I added all the relevant email addresses, user names, personal names, etc. that are always a bother to have to...

Ran out of app space, come on Moto, HTC.

I actually use AppControl and it works great. It also has a batch mode to back up all your apps, as well as their data, just in case and you can restore all or just one by one.

    Speakerphone

The speaker is behind the long grill on the back of the unit, at the bottom. The microphone is the very small slit in the center of the lip at the bottom when you are facing the front of the phone. If you are going to use the speaker phone, just place it face-up and speak. If you place it on a...

Who would purchase a case that surrounded the droid at the expense of the keyboard?

I purchased the Seidio Innocase and the Spring Clip to hold it and immediately ran into the issue that it makes the top row of the hardware keyboard unusable, but I really NEED the back to keep my battery door from falling off. I have lost 4 so far, and enough is enough! So, I use just the back...

How do u put a folder you created into the app drawer

Take a look at PandaHome. I tried all the others and in the end, this one was the best mix of ability and stability. It still has a few quirks, but it literally is getting better by the day in stability as well as a fairly constant upgrade in functionality. I highly recommend it. It will support...

100% confirmed - Flash and 2.1 coming to Moto Droid

I think that the speculation of a link between 2.1 and Flash is unfounded. After reviewing all the presentations at CES, and based on the comments of the Flash team, I think we will see Flash for the Android in a Quarter or two, not soon. I think that we should see 2.1 within a week or two...

Are there any apps similar to Pocket Quiken

I have no idea how it compares, but I did see a recent notice that an app has been released called Cashew, which appears to at least be in the same category as what you are asking. Check it out and let us know how it compares. I, for one, would be interested to know.

    Desktop Multimedia station on sale

Seidio has or will have shortly a Dock that you can use with the stock Droid or with a Droid and skins. If it is like how they implemented the same for the Storm, it has a plastic insert that can be removed to support the phone with skins on. That's what I am waiting for. Then I can use their...

    Panda Home Question

I am sure that there are other ways, but I just copied the theme files from my PC to the SD card and then from within Panda Home, opened the theme editor and there is an 'add theme' button. I just pointed to each theme that I had downloaded and it added them to the theme list. Enjoy!

    Video Formats for the Droid

That means no AVI or WMV. Best best is to do the conversion to the .m4v just like you used on the iPhone/Touch. Works great on the Droid.

    Filestructure: Folder Names

Notifications Need Their Own Folder Yes, just create a Notification folder and put your media files in there and when you go into the dialog to change them, the new files will show up. You can do the same thing for Ringtones and Alarms.

CrackBerry.com on Android - Round Robin

From the Storm to the Droid After a decade on iPaq and WinMo machines, I spent a year on the Storm. It was my first experience with a touch only phone. It had it's ups and downs but Crackberry.com made it much better than it would have been. I haven't fled altogether, as I still have to support...
