FWIW, now that I'm looking at it, my Note 8 has the exact same light bleed on the left side of the glass. Not that it matters to you Note 9 owners, but now I'm noticing it.

Picked up a GG on the $199 eBay deal. Figured I'd give it a try ... All the the notifications seem to work except being able to read text messages from Handcent ... All it says is "New message received". I have no way to read it on the watch and only have an option to View on Phone ...

Absolutely not. The exploit I found last year that works on all devices without root works just fine. I use Switch Pro Widget to activate my tethering daily. It still works perfectly.
