I have the same problem. Smart Lock was flaky when I first got the phone last year, but improved after a few updates. Now on 7.0 Nougat, it is completely unreliable again.

It's a Google calendar account. You've got it right with the cache wipe; I tried it from the App manager, as I'd seen it suggested elsewhere.

I find my fingerprint sensor only works reliably if I actually press the home button to unlock the phone. If I just place my finger on the sensor, it works perhaps half of the time.

Defective is defective, but warranty for manufacturer defects doesn't promise replacement with a brand new unit. It explicitly states that the manufacturer will repair or replace the unit, at their discretion. Is it unfair to send in a defective unit with 16 days use, and receive a refurbished...

So does the manufacturer of your computer, home appliances and car. Warranty never implies unlimited replacements with new units. Nor does it claim or purport to do so.

I found my Edge to be nearly impossible to use effectively without a case. I got a Spigen Neo Hybrid, and it made all the difference. With the new PD3 software update, the problem when not using the case is greatly reduced, though still very bad when using Swiftkey as my default keyboard. Oddly...

I'm not sure of the difference, but mine is model G935W8, and yes, version PD3 is my new software version.

I finally got an OTA update from Rogers yesterday. They skipped the March security patch; I recieved April, plus a UI update from Samsung. The total DL size was 279.xxMB.

I believe Samsung has an "experience" store in Vancouver and Toronto... you might try contacting them directly?

Wow. I just got an OTA system update, and now this issue is resolved. The screen still dims at the same interval, but the reduction in brightness is much less. I can still clearly make out the keypad without having to wake the screen. Awesome!
