Smart Lock not working since last update

[AC Question]

Smart Lock is not working properly any more. My Galaxy s7edge keeps asking for password/fingerprint unlock even when at a trusted place. I have not done any changes except updating the OS to latest. Nothing works, been restarting, resetting, removing and adding again........ Please help!

It does seem to be quite inconsistent with trusted places. Try dropping a couple of extra pins at the location(s) and see if that helps. There might still be times when you will have to use your password/fingerprint, but maybe it will be a little less.

I have the same problem. Smart Lock was flaky when I first got the phone last year, but improved after a few updates.

Now on 7.0 Nougat, it is completely unreliable again.

I have noticed on mine that it works most of the time but not as much as it was before the update.

Even with extra pins mine isn't reliable at all. And it's not just location...trusted devices isn't working reliably either. This and My Places just vanishing...I'm really not liking Nougat.
