Going from the Epic to the Photon

Sounds like the photon is for me. I could care less about roms. I like it simple. I only root so I can tether and remove sprints stupid memory hog apps. That's all I want. So really ROMS don't matter. As far as screens go, the Galaxy screens are fantastic, but frankly I don't need it. I...

    [ROM]Mostly Stock EI22 | Update 4 11/12

I'm stock right now and upgraded to EL30 this morning. Do I need to wait for a mostly stock EL30 ROM or if I root and go with this will I be OK? I'm just trying to get maximum usability from my Epic before I go and switch phones in a couple weeks.

    [GINGERBREAD][EL30] Official EL30 Gingerbread Samsung Epic 4g

Can I just say that as someone who has random fits of OCD that the fact that the Icons for asphalt and qik still show under apps really ticks me off?

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Update - I'm having the same GPS problems everyone else was now, and random freezups. Probably just going to change phones, maybe even cancel sprint. Seems that Samsungs android phones are all having GPS issues and issues with...

Going from the Epic to the Photon

Good idea or bad idea? Pros vs. Cons? Looks like the root methods are fairly straight forward and easy so that's a plus. Seems to me from all my reading and personal experience that Samsung is halfassing their Android software, especially any updates because they just keep pumping out new...

    Sprint Suckage

So I have the Epic 4g. You may or may not know that Sprint did a kick a$$ job of pushing out an update (two now actually) that essentially turn the phone into an idiot phone instead of a smart phone. The biggest issue being GPS locking up among other little annoyances. It's known to be...

    [EI22][GINGERBREAD][EPIC 4G] Official Gingerbread Thread

Just to update I'm still running as smoothly or smoother than ever. I'm going to hold off on re-rooting for a bit.

Handcent or Go SMS questions; and pros and cons

When I first got onto Android I was all about using handsent because I could customize it to look cool. Beyond that I saw no benefit and have just stuck with the stock text app since. I figured why add an app for something the phone does on its own just fine.

    [EI22][GINGERBREAD][EPIC 4G] Official Gingerbread Thread

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for So maybe that's why mine is working. I just updated last night for the first time so I gotta a cleaner update. I saw some links that say the next OTA should start pushing as soon as tonight too.

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Update: Still seems to be running quite satisfactorily. Debating doing the basic root to remove apps and add a tether. However I'm going to wait a couple days just to see. Also it appeears Sprint is pushing out another OTA...

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Ok so I Odin'd back to stock, did the OTA GB update and played around with that for a bit while seeking out the most simple method of rooting I could. In the process I found my GPS to work, my data to seem acceptably fast, and...

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Ok really dumb question and I apologize in advance because I'm sure if I search harder it's answered. I haven't used GB yet I'm about to try it. What can I do to just root it? No kernal no rom just root access so I can delete...

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Oh cool. Thanks for the input. Yeah at this point I've had my fun with rootingand roms and all the fun of android, but I'm beginning to wonder if some of my network issues and data issues have anything to do with all my...

Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for us?

Re: Is it true? Did Sprint turn the epic into a paperweight for Thanks for all the input guys. Been on vacation the last week so I just got my phone back to a clean froyo ACS Syndicate ROM I had from before so it would at least function normally for now. I think I'll check into going to...
