Did you do a factory reset? I did and battery life has been great. After updating there were all kinds of apps just stuck in limbo (wont update, caused errors, etc) but all that went away with the three finger salute.

a big update 2 years after release ain't bad. its a shame the internal/sd app storage is still just as crappy though. while it now only reports "all this app is on your sd card" it really isnt. I moved 450mb of apps to the sd card (facebook and messenger) and the onboard storage only went up...

Beam and Wi-Fi Direct are "built in" but it's an unfinished protocol. The only success I have had is with external apps to assist the process (like the actual app named wifi direct you can get from Google Play). Just use Email, SMS, or one of the other zillion working methods of communication...

Really? That was uber pointless. After 24 hours my account status doesnt seem to have changed at all, but the wifi hotspot is definitely working fine on my phone. Maybe i will start a new thread.

Did verizon enable wifi hotspot for all users with no extra charge? I had foxfi installed under ICS, and now in JB i fired it up and it automatically launched the Verizon hotspot tool, the crazy thing is that it captured all the settings from FoxFi, and then it turned it on and started working...

Same for my wife's samsung intensityII. Texts all of a sudden show up with a CB#. Why would you EVER want to not supporess that? One more feature they forgot to include in the new version? But hey, if you jam the screen with your thumb and twist the phone it starts the camera app! ohthankgod
