What is the purpose of root and s off if you cannot make such changes on your phone? I thought that was Tue whole idea was to gain administrative rights on your phone.

Verizon phones are now auto detect and do not allow edit or adding of APNs. This is why I went s off and root to try and override but am uncertain as how to proceed.

I have an HTC One M8 Verizon variant with Kit Kat 4.4.4. I am s off and root with Sunshine and have SuperSU. I need to change APN settings to cricket to receive mms. I would prefer not to flash a new ROM if possible as I am new at this and don't want to risk bricking my phone. Any suggestions or...

Re: why cant I download mms messages? I only get reset default. I've read something about the firmware version I have having taken that option out but my wife has the same version on her phone and she can add new to hers. I don't know if I can fix this.

Re: why cant I download mms messages? The only option is reset default. It appears that the firmware version I have eliminated the New APN option. I don't know if I can fix that.

I looked and the APN is incorrect however the only thing I can edit is the APN. I cannot edit the other settings and there is no option to add a new one.
