not seeing that option to make it default

I have a few apps that use speech to txt, such as trillian for example. Right now to open that, I have to hold the gear icon to the left of the space bar on the keypad every time I want to bring it up. Is there a way to make the speak icon as the default one instead of having to hold the gear...

Which skin? I was looking at the Verus case but there have been some complaints about it either getting to hot or losing signal strength because of the metal band. I really want a thinner case but heat is prob one of the biggest issues I see with having one, other would be signal strength.

Just joined the Android family based off his review of the G3, aint even mad it's not in "his" top 5. Still love this phone.
