All the Moto functions are accessed from the Moto app, should be on your home screen.

Go to advanced wifi settings and uncheck avoid bad wifi signals. This is on by default and uses 4G when wifi signal is not strong.

From the look of the home screen he definitely has a number of apps that are not part of OEM package, ie flixter, yahoo, stocks, flashlight, ESPN. They were all probably ported over by Verizon from his old phone, or a Verizon rep's idea of "essential apps". The lock screen app looks interesting...

It might not be the turbo, but the way that square and zello are intergrating with L 5.1, assuming you have upgraded. Try a test, use each separately after a reboot. Ask someone to call you and see if it rings. Then go into settings/ programs/ running and see if each program software is still...

To keep your phone from using data while on WIFI, Go into settings / WIFI / advanced/ and uncheck avoid bad WIFI connections. This will keep your phone from turning on data when WIFI signal is sketchy. I had a similar prob when I first got phone, using 4G when on WIFI. Good luck.
