I just don't get the point

I don't get the point of people who don't "get the point" of Chrome OS. :) It's a cloud device so your docs, pics, web links live in Google's cloud. You don't need a lot of local storage then. And the OP has one with 2GB of RAM. My Toshiba Chromebook 2 has 4 GB's of RAM and was only $179...

    best value phone on Verizon?

I have a Moto E 2nd gen on Verizon Pre-Paid but am thinking of getting something nicer with more RAM, nicer screen, newer Android version, etc.. I can afford up to $15 a month (on their new payment plan style of getting a device). I don't care what brand. I prefer to go $12 a month or less...

    your favorite launcher?

I made a screenshot of my Moto E today. It's running Nova Prime and the "Alos" icon pack (99 cents). I only use the phone in landscape phone, so I love that Nova lets you lock it into whatever screen orientation you prefer instead of the screen jerking from portrait to landscape and back. I...

    your favorite launcher?

I bought Nova Prime today. I tried the free version and liked it so I wanted the extra features of the $5 paid version. It lets you change/personalize pretty much everything.

    Running out of outlets!

Not sure about the Chromecast, but as for the Chromecast audio I used a generic USB cable and ran it into a wall tap I just got at the dollar store ($6) that converts a standard outlet into 2 plugs with 2 USB charging spots built in. Works fine.

Does Chromecast Audio connect to a stereo receiver

I just picked up a Chromecast Audio a few weeks ago. At first I was unsure of its utility, as I used to simply connect my phone to the 2.1 speaker system via a 3.5mm audio cable. However, it's so much more convenient to not have to get up and tie up my phone to play music or podcasts. I can...

    your favorite launcher?

Wow, that looks pretty cool. It probably won't run on my low-end Moto E. :)

    my first Chromebook

Yeah that Dell is a great machine. I have the 2014 version of the Toshiba Chromebook 2, so it has the fanless N2840 CPU. But the battery life is great since there's no fan, and it's plenty fast enough for general everyday computing since it has 4 GB's of RAM and an SSD. Though I went from a 2...

    Big Help in the Kitchen

I guess you can also use it to convert measurements like if you need to know how many cups are in a quart or whatever. And it can probably give you basic recipes? I don't have one, but I'd like to pick one up.

    your favorite launcher?

I like the standard Google launcher. But I do have an Asus ZenPad (Lollipop) tablet, and it uses the Asus ZenUI launcher which is really nice. So I checked the Play store and downloaded it for my Moto E 2nd Gen (Lollipop). It's nice on the phone, too. It gets really great reviews. I also...

Best Buy Black Friday 2015: $9.99 Moto E (2nd gen, Verizon Prepaid)

I think I only paid $50 for my Moto E (2015) at Best Buy). You will probably have to wait until next year's black friday to get another deal like this. For the money, the Moto E is probably the best bang for the buck if you have a low budget. So if you need a phone, even at $50 you will like...

    my first Chromebook

Is there an online Sims she can play, or is it a Windows game? You can get her a Windows laptop pretty reasonably priced. I'd recommend Lenovo. Too bad a Chromebook won't work for her, as they are inherently safer.

    my first Chromebook

My current laptop is getting long in the tooth -- 4 year old Lenovo with 2 GB RAM, HDD, Windows 10. I figured I'd get a Chromebook, so I ordered a Toshiba Chromebook 2 with the 1900x1000 IPS screen. I am hoping it's going to be faster with its newer CPU, twice the RAM (4 GB), SSD and Chrome OS...

Anyone seen one in the wild?

Just my own. :) I bought a Zenpad C 7 last month off Newegg. It's been alright so far. It's running Lollipop.

    I am loving my Chromecast

I got tired of connecting my laptop to my TV to watch Netflix and YouTube. I was near a Best Buy last month and ran in and bought a Chromecast. I love being able to use my Moto E phone as a remote. I bought a 2nd Chromecast for our bedroom TV a week later. I had a first gen Chromecast...
