Does Doze interfere with Moto Display?

Have either of you changed any settings, such as Battery Optimization, which might affect the persistence of notifications? I just tried mine again: woke the phone, set it down and waited a few seconds for it to go dark. Sent a Gmail. It pulsed a notification every few seconds for 4 minutes...

Does Doze interfere with Moto Display?

Thank you! Exactly what I wanted to know. My Google searches hadn't found anything mentioning the change. Shame. I like and need persistent notifications, but it's becoming more and more difficult to find a phone that supports them.

Does Doze interfere with Moto Display?

So if your phone has been sitting idle and off-charger for a minute... and an email arrives... your Moto Display will continue pulsing a notification indefinately - for hours even - until you dismiss it? I just set my phone down, off-charger. Waited until screen went off. Sent an email to it...

Does Doze interfere with Moto Display?

Does Marshmallow's Doze feature prevent Moto Display from pulsing notifications continuously? Moto Display on my older 2014 Moto X on Lollipop seemed to continue pulsing notifications every few seconds until I dismissed them. But on my new Moto X Pure, Moto Display only pulses notifications a...

Access Moto XPE files via Chromebook?

Anyone manage to get their Moto XPE to show up in the Files app of their Chromebook using a USB cable? I have the USB connection set to "MTP" mode, connect the USB cable, and yet... nothing. Acer 14 on Stable Channel. The "MTP Write Support" flag is enabled on the Chromebook.

Any way to force a security patch update?

Yup, May update here as well. Just bought mine via Best Buy. Running on Verizon. If I understand what I've read, Motorola decided to release our updates in batches rather than monthly.

    xdm_iframe.bin downloads automatically

For what it's worth, Opera (on Android) lets you at least cancel the attempted download, just as FireFox (on Windows) does. Why is it named .bin when it's a javascript file? The URL references all seem to be turner.com, so I'm assuming it's intentional by CNN and not malicious - but it's still...

    xdm_iframe.bin downloads automatically

Same thing happened to me last night on my Verizon 2014 Moto X with Lollipop. Never saw it before. Not sure which app downloaded it. I can't quite figure out what the script is supposed to do, but the code seems to be too nicely commented to be malware. Though I suppose malware authors can be...

    Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth Bugs me too. As an experiment, I did the Setting / General / Reset / Reset Home Screen Layout thing which put the iOS apps in default locations and third-party apps alphabetically. It seemed silly at first, but now I'm kinda liking it. Still not...

    Does encryption overwrite existing data?

Does encryption simply scramble the existing files on the phone, or does it actually reformat every byte on the drive? I understand that before selling a phone most sites recommend encrypting a phone before doing the Factory Data Reset. The theory being that the FDR merely does a "quick format"...

Cyanogen on Verizon 2014 Moto X?

Has anyone installed Cyanogen on their 2014 Moto X, specifically the Verizon version? I'm basically looking for a way to get Marshmallow onto my device, and I think I'm reading that Cyanogen is based on Marshmallow now. But while I've installed Google images onto my Nexus 7, I've never...

[Closed] Win a Nexus 6P from Android Central!

Because my Verizon Moto X will never see Marshmallow. I want my Marshmallow!

is it good to buy moto x 2014 now?

    1) The camera can take nice pictures, but it's inconsistent. Focusing can be challenging too. 2) The battery is average at best. I usually make it through a full day, but just barely. 3) Like Coyote said, it doesn't look like carrier versions will be updated beyond Lollipop. Otherwise though...

Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the Moto X (2nd gen)

Ouch. Yes, that stings. And seems so out of place to say. I'm guessing that they got the certification because they planned to release Marshmallow... then something happened to change their mind. My Moto X is barely 3 months old, as I bought it directly from Motorola during one of the last...
