when i first got my phone i was able to download them and suddenly i just couldn't anymore

i can download apk files on s7 edge but once it finishes downloading i press it and it goes away yet nothing happens. i go to my files and press it and nothing happens yet again. i have enabled installation of unknown sources. I've tried clearing download cache and cache partition in recovery...
