The funny thing is I used the same cable both times, so I know it wasn't the cable even though it is not the stock OEM cable. Just don't understand why the desktop would work but not the laptop. I guess I won't update my desktop to Win 10 just yet!

I know the S5 has a car mode but I don't know how to enable it. I got into it once by asking S-Voice to open car mode, but there has to be another way I'm not finding.

Thanks for replying - I finally realized the problem was that the recovery wasn't installed for some reason. I flashed it again in Odin and then it worked perfectly. I will keep that in mind though about the TWRP recovery, I thought the PhilZ thread looked kind of old.

I don't know how to turn them off, but I do know that Gallery requests your location so that it can record where your pictures were taken. Not sure about the other ones though. I would think you could stop this by just turning off your location services.

There is a good reason - 4g radio. Those other 2 phones do not have 4g, so it was much easier to port Gingerbread to them. It will take a little longer, but it will be worth it!
