It looks like they're making advances in understanding speech to text. A little more work and they'll have it right but it's just not ready yet. Thanks again for all the help.

No change after making sure the mic was clear. Uninstalling the Google app updates helped significantly. Capitalization is still a bit off but I've always had that problem. I don't see any random punctuation popping up during dictation no matter how long I pause.

Apps > App info to force stop. Apps > App info > Storage > Data and Apps > App info > Storage > Cache to clear data and cache for both engines.

I tried that and nothing changed.
