Recent problems with S9 dictation

I use dictation heavily in my work. A few days ago I noticed the overall functionality of the voice-to-text feature on my S9 took a nosedive.

It's randomly inserting commas and the briefest of speech pauses results in a period. It's also peppering the resulting text with oddly placed capital letters. I've had some issues with capitalization before but never with punctuation.

This happens in every app where I use dictation and the problems appear at the same rate using both the Samsung and the Google engines. I've cleared the cache for both with no improvement. I see the same behavior in Safe Mode.

Does anyone have ideas on what I should try to improve the dictation results? Right now dictation is effectively useless for me since it takes me far longer to fix the errors than to just start out by typing.

Apps > App info to force stop. Apps > App info > Storage > Data and Apps > App info > Storage > Cache to clear data and cache for both engines.

Ok how about we do this
Settings>apps>3 dots upper right corner tap>system apps tap> clear data ,cache, force stop the following
Google text to speech
Samsung keyboard

That took me to the same place I was before. I'd already cleared data/cache for Google text to speech and force quit so no additional changes there.

I did the same thing for Samsung keyboard but the force stop button never dimmed. When I went to test dictation in a message it ran through a bunch of startup messages like "press space to accept the correction" though.

No change in the voice to text results. I'm still getting periods inserted at any pause and strange capitalization throughout.

After that, it is still having problems. It seems to be trying to respond to grammar. But doing it imperfectly. This time it added. A? In my sample text. I dictated this Reply so you can see. What it's doing? I haven't. Requested any punctuation be added into this text.

Try uninstalling the update to google text to speech , dont let it update see if it works . 20200204_210624.jpeg

Unfortunately No luck. I turned off. Auto updates on that app but it still seems to have problems. Even After removing updates.

Weird thing - someone else posted here about the same issue today. They haven't responded since then though.

Ok will report back if I find anything , I have my Note 10 + no issue though.
