Games that work on the Optimus V

I run stock, BTW. Angry Birds runs okay in stock. Occasionally, you need to wait for the animations to stop before shooting birds... not a big deal. Seasons has issues because of the particle/weather things. Rio is okay because they didn't do all the odd things that are in Seasons. Ha...

Games that work on the Optimus V

Oh well, haven't been here in a while... but... Scrambled Net is one that I mentioned above. I like this one. One of my all time favorite mobile apps... Reiner Knizia's Labyrinth. I even paid to get the iOS version. It's free for Android, and works fine on the Optimus V. My kids love Slice...

Games that work on the Optimus V

Co-op? Pocket Legends is free to start. It's a MMOG (though PL is more like Guild Wars on the PC rather than WoW). Runs fine on the Optimus V, though it's smoother on my iPod Touch & looks better on the Retina display. I guess you pay for expanding the game, but I haven't gotten far in it. ...

Amazon APPSTORE Free app of the day.

Namco's Flight Control! I love that game! I just cannot play it when I am on an airplane. Something about jumbo jets crashing that I do not like.

Amazon APPSTORE Free app of the day.

Cool. Been waiting for this to hit the free thing. My son likes the Veggie Samurai-ish copycat Camel's Kitchen (free ad version available on the Google Marketplace, also the paid version with no ads)... which works fine on the Optimus V. However, it doesn't want to install on my NookColor...

Pros/ cons to HoneyComb on Nook Color

It's not particularly difficult to upgrade. I think there's more utility in Honeycomb if you can mess around with the command line, but it works just fine even if you don't Root it. The biggest advantage is the newer OS. It feels like it was built for Tablets, whereas Froyo feels a lot more...

    Success! Swype on Honeycomb

I don't have the issue with the Marketplace app. It might be related to these lines: ro.build.description=harmony-eng 2.2 FRF91 eng.build.20100909.225956 ro.build.fingerprint=nvidia/harmony/harmony/:2.2/FRF91/eng.build.20100909.225956:eng/ I'm tempted to monkey with them some more, myself...

Angry birds Rio free at new Amazon App Store!!

All of my AB games are window exhibiting the "fire one or two birds and crash" problem. I guess I will try reinstalling the appstore, Rio, and then running Rio from the store next. Reinstalling Seasons didn't fix anything. If I can find and remove the DRM token, I will also have to try that...

Amazon app store, AB Rio, working on Honeycomb?

Let me be clear. The original AB and Seasons both worked fine for me. I finished the first two groups of levels (42 levels?) in the original game, plus a few in seasons. They do not work any more. After installing the Amazon appstore and Rio, the games crash after a couple seconds. Same...

Amazon app store, AB Rio, working on Honeycomb?

Uninstalled both the appstore and Rio now. However, both the original AB and Seasons are now unstable/unplayable due to crashes. Could be a total coincidence, but the crashing is very similar to what I saw when I tried to play Rio. Maybe it will work fine for you out there, but I guess my HC...

Amazon app store, AB Rio, working on Honeycomb?

After dl'ing the amazon appstore & AB Rio, I found that the AB Rio game crashed a lot, so I dumped the appstore. Seems like the appstore always needs an internet connection, along with sign-in to your amazon account. No thanks... My kids will probably order a bunch of smurfberries or something...

Stock Rooted - how to get amazon market and Angry Birds Rio

The amazon appstore apk isn't really stable on my honeycomb setup. It seems to want constant access to the internet. Rio crashed trying to call up ads or something. It even made my non-amazon Angry Birds & AB Seasons unstable/crash-prone. Un-installing the amazon apk fixed the AB games that...

Games that work on the Optimus V

I have a few puzzle games on mine... Reiner Knizia's Labyrinth (not sure if Labyrinth on page 1 is referring to this) Scrambled Net Alchemy Classic (works, but the Optimus screen is small compared to my Nook) Stuff I haven't tried... Demon Hunter (downloading it for my Nook first) Gurk, the...

Excessive Battery Drain (Even On Standby)

Someone wrote a free app called "Fix50" in the Market that toggles Airplane mode at boot. Not sure if it fixes the issue, but it didn't brick my Optimus V. We'll see how it goes. (I'd link to it, but I'm on my BB right now)

wanting to buy but have some worries

I run Honeycomb off a cheap 4GB Class 4 card. No problems with stability for me! And that's supposed to be less stable than Froyo. I got Swype to work with it, which I think is better than the regular keyboard. Market should work fine. The question is how comfortable are you with the command...
