    transfer your contacts back to google... and make sure that you have auto sync on for your contacts.. then reboot your phone... what service provider do you have?

    go into the settings in your "google search app" and see if your web history is on or off. if it's off...that is the problem, you have to turn it on.

    do you have your contacts stored to your phone? or to your gmail? this makes a difference.. cuz it sounds like your contacts are stored on your phone.

    it's your DATA cable. i use xp, vista, and windows 7... with a blackberry data cable.. "i have no problems". it's your cable buddy.
