I bought a Chinese replacement pen and it sucks.

App opens and immediately hangs. At least one other person has posted a post update problem with S Note.
Come on Samsung ! Issue a bug fix. S Note is your killer App.
I like S Note. The reason I use Lecture Notes is the ability to make distributable videos (tutorials, etc).
I can watch them on any computer, tablet, or modern TV.
S Note videos require S Note to view them.
I have been happy with this unit. Sometimes you I need to restart my Note in order for the tablet to "see"
the USB device. I have used with mem sticks and with my camera.

You didn't pay for updates. Not part of the deal when you buy the tablet. SAMSUNG has a moral obligation to fix bugs, but not to upgrade the firmware. Their upgrade is the Note 10.1 (2014)
In addition, why not just download the latest Android code and put it on your Note 10.1 ?

Can someone please describe how I can specify (rubberban) an arbitrary rectangle in an image file
and then crop just the part inside the rect? I think the default photo prog will do it, but I am
apparently too dense to figure it out.
