You can try a different cable of better quality. Usually a shorter cable works better. I have 3 phones at home plus one tablet, and two of the devices refuse to work with one usb cable in file transfer mode, the other two are OK with the same cable.

I also have an old Asus TF101 , and sometimes wifi refuse to work. What I have to do is to disbale the wifi on the tablet, and after that to enable and reconnect again. I've noticed the problem when the tabled has few tens of minutes of inactivity.

Sometime long/bad usb cable creates problem also to me. Try with some shorter cable, or a better quality.

How old is the phone? During the update it drains a lot of current (high cpu usage), but after next charge it should go normal. Looks like other people have similar problems after oreo update. See this thread...

I own such phone since about 1 year. All fine, except GPS. Since few months GPS signal gets lost, it can not connect to GPS even after one minute. The map doesn't keep up with where I actually am, and it makes some apps like Waze useless. Anybody having the same problem? Some fix?
