bought a G4 a few weeks ago - my rationale, pro/con impressions and a question

I don't have any social networks on my phone. I do have 3 messaging apps along with gmail and yahoo mail. But I think that's pretty normal. About the seam - there's a bit of creaking from the back-plate connection that I can notice when I'm in a very quiet place.

bought a G4 a few weeks ago - my rationale, pro/con impressions and a question

I bought an LG G4 a few weeks ago to replace my G2, which I had also bought when it was "last year's phone." It's an H818N, which is a Hong Kong dual-sim model. Had 6.0 out of the box. My decision was based on: A) my positive experience with the G2 B) the fact that its specs, including screen...

Initial Impressions of the HTC 10

What do you guys think about the placement of the navigation buttons? They are lower than you typically see.

Can't delete IMAP account - by Google's design, or issue with LG software?

It's odd, there were two accounts called "Yahoo" - one of which had the regular Yahoo logo one of which had a logo that looked like Yahoo weather. The regular looking one had no menu at all - nothing pops up - while the other account, when selected, was calling itself "SyncAdaptorAccount" and...

Can't delete IMAP account - by Google's design, or issue with LG software?

On my G2, I added a Yahoo email account to the Gmail app as an IMAP account, which is a new feature of the Gmail app. However, I see no way to remove it, either in the general settings or the setting of the Gmail app. I made it stop syncing, but it's still visible. It's kinda weird. There's sort...

LG G2 - Best phone I've ever had?

I dunno...in terms of being problem free, just the right size, not much wasted space, excellent screen, pretty good battery life, solid camera, doesn't get scuffed up from normal use...it's a pretty brilliant pocket computer. I really like it. When I look at the G3, I'm not sure it's better...

Anybody else still not have Lollipop on the Wifi-Only version?

Magically? No, I think they should be able to program their OS well enough to support their handful of devices in a timely fashion. If it's so difficult to make something run on 6 different devices, then they are doing something wrong. Microsoft puts an OS on zillions of hardware configurations...

Anybody else still not have Lollipop on the Wifi-Only version?

This is google's own device, they should be able to give us the update promptly. Still no OTA for me.

    Android Lollipop

Still no OTA on mine either. Major fail by Google to not have prompt support for their own device only 2 years old.

Anybody else still not have Lollipop on the Wifi-Only version?

Mine has an unlocked bootloader - I think I probably rooted it too, I can't remember. Think I can still get the OTA? I had no problem installing 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 OTAs just now. But no 5.0 update is offered.

no way to quickly select sound mode

I don't want to not get notifications or specify from whom I want notifications - I want to be able to toggle between notification types. However, someone above pointed out that volume down and then pressing the bell switches to vibrate, which is helpful - then you don't have press volume all...

no way to quickly select sound mode

I'm talking specifically about the lack of a convenient way to toggle modes at all.

no way to quickly select sound mode

Thanks, I'll check that out on my wife's phone tonight. She's the only one who has the update.

no way to quickly select sound mode

I notice that they removed the options that used to be in the menu that pops up when you long-press the power button (vibrate, airplane, etc), and there's also no quick settings toggle to quickly change between sound on, vibrate, and perhaps silent mode. This seems silly. Quickly changing sound...

How do I make the Google search engine in Chrome take me to an English search page in Hong Kong?

chrome omnibar search language I'm an English-speaker living in Hong Kong. When I do a google search within the Chrome app by typing into the omnibar, it gives me results where all the options and stuff (everything except the actual search results, since I'm searching in English) are in...
