    mac address

    Try - settings/wifi/advanced. That is where I find my mac address. Advanced is found in the three dot menu. I do not need to be connected to see the mac info.

    routine cache wipe

    I do this once a week. It keeps the tablet running with out the hiccups that I had been getting before I started my schedule of wiping the cache.

    Replacing the main board is a doable task. It sounds harder than it is. I did it on my Nexus and am very happy with the results. There are plenty of instructions posted that show the steps involved.
