Why is my battery meter giving me false readings?

Charged battery [new OEM] gives false readings I'm running KitKat 4.4.4, and the Nexus 4 has 1-1/2 years of use. Battery replaced November 4th. All functions work perfectly except for this: When fully charged, the percentage is 82-86% rather than 100, and it's hard to estimate time remaining...

Saving a Gmail attachment to the Galaxy S3 gallery?

My wife has a new Samsung Galaxy S3. When I send her a photo, the 3 menu access dots in the upper right of the Gmail app are missing. Any ideas? Sincere thanks...

Tune in radio on nexus 4

Here's the problem: Tune in radio never shuts down completely, and their little icon stays in the Notification bar. The only way to get rid of it has been to power down the N4 device, and then power on again. Any ideas? Thanks :-/

Is Google flexing muscle in a bad way?

Learning from experience... My Nexus 7 [2012] updated 22 apps today, and sure enough the Google keyboard had become default. It was a snap to get SwiftKey back this time. As for bloatware, I'm told that Samsung and the others are far worse than Google.

Is Google flexing muscle in a bad way?

"It" seems to be getting worse with KitKat. Today there was an update of 9 apps in my Nexus 4. And my SwiftKey keyboard was replaced with the Google keyboard. It took me a while to get SwiftKey back. Recently a new app appeared, Play Newstand. This is supposed to replace Currents, but they don't...

    Can you believe these prices?!?

I'm a former Bostonian in Jerusalem and recently noticed this price for a new Nexus 5 at a popular online electronics shop: $785-. BTW, last July I paid $610- for my Nexus 4. Both phones are unlocked without a wireless carrier's plan. Sure, these items are cheaper abroad. However, to get the...

    proximity sensor issue

UPDATE: I was using a soft plastic case which wraps around all 4 edges of the phone. I replaced this with another case which leaves the top area open. Voila... Proximity Sensor works fine now ;-)

Good battery saver app for N4 with 4.4?

Thanks again here, especially for the info on Easy Battery Saver. I began having WiFi problems with an N7 tablet as well [2012 model]. It seems Ok now with Easy Battery Saver uninstalled. Since the Du battery saver has worked well in my N4 phone, even with the 4.4 update, I'm trying that in the...

Battery care, once and for all - "Snake oil" or worthwhile procedure

Both my battery app and Norelco electric shaver manual recommend discharging the battery in use to 20% about once per month... then charging up. Is this worthwhile or just like "snake oil" Thanks... ;)
