Thanks for the advice everyone! And I have avoided updating, I did my research ahead of time ;). The problem ended up just being a bum SD card that was packed in the phone. Went to Verizon and they swapped it out no questions asked and it's running like a charm now. :)

No resolution yet but it hasn't helped that I can't get this hyper-grip Platinum case from Best Buy off of my phone now.

I've rebooted several times. I can't take a picture that'll save, I can't delete any files off of my SD card, and I can't transfer anything new onto the device.

I reseated the SD card and it's still stuck in Read-Only. Apparently this is a pretty common problem bur I can't seem to find a working fix.

So yesterday I finally purchased my Thunderbolt, and I'm very happy with it. I've had a couple of issues (people have received texts from me from a bizzare long number), but overall I'm very happy. One thing that's really getting to me now, is I copied over my music to my SD card last night...
