Android 7.0 successfully is now installed onto my 6p. I still dont think the OTA update i received yesterday was a preparation update though, as it was the same size as the one that installed today.

I now have a new OTA update downloading onto my 6p. This one is the same size as the one that previously failed... let's see what happens.

Same experience for me, downloaded and installed the 7.0 update, clicked on restart and install and.... nothing. This is the second time this has happened. So where did that big file that I downloaded go??

I also got the OTA update today, and just ran the installation. There were no issues with the installation but, the phone hasn't actually updated, it still shows as 6.0.1! What's going on?

Also had much worse battery after the update - in fact, my phone was also physically getting quite hot while just using it, which it never did before - I did a factory reset, and the issue cleared up.

I like Ambient Display but you have to move the phone to see it - I quite like the idea of the new 'Always on' display in the Samsung S7 and LG G5. Do you think something like this might come to the Nexus line, or maybe other options for Ambient Display, such as activate with motion gestures or...

To be fair, I never had this issue on my Note 3 with Facebook or Messenger, but that was running Lollipop. I uninstalled Messenger, but still have Facebook running (but optimised). Happy to report my phone battery is now at 67% 24 hrs later off charge, I had 1hr of SOT yesterday, only dropped 3%...

So, having uninstalled FB Messenger, my phone has now stayed at 100% for the last 1.5hr and I have a nice flat line in the battery graph for the first time - if this sticks, I'll be very happy!

I'm having this issue too. Battery so far has okay, but less impressive than my former Note 3, and battery dropped 10% overnight. Have you tried disabling the Messages app via the Application Manager?

Same experience for me, Nova Prime is a lot more battery friendly for me than TouchWiz, as well as being much nicer to use.

Thanks Manmikey. I was keeping the reset with no restore from backup as the very last option as I know it will be time consuming but, probably worth a go. Interestingly, I have an app called smsawake installed which used to wake my screen when an SMS message came in but this also no longer works...
