Airplane mode vs Mobile Data off

I had a trip to Europe scheduled and wasn't planning on getting mobile service while over there, so I was testing if texting might work while on wifi. I have a 5T on Cricket and use Textra. At home, if I activate Airplane Mode and turn wifi on, texts will not send. If I just turn off Mobile...

Can't get Android Auto to work

It took a bunch of deleting, retrying, removing Bluetooth connection, etc., but it eventually connected (found several thread on an Accord forum). It's been solid since, so just initial growing pains.

    Volume Adjustment Quirk

In your screenshot, what's the icon next to the time? I have Sonos speakers in my house and if the app is open on my phone (even if I'm not listening), I get the same volume view you show. If I close the Sonos app, the volume rocker just shows the main volume slider. I'm just wondering if the...

Android Pie Oxygen 9.0.3 Update for OnePlus 5T. Worth it??

I took the plunge and so far, so good. The UI elements are dramatically different. Two changes that I really like are: 1) the slider settings changed so that the middle slot is "vibrate only" and the top is now DND, and 2) they now have a DND option as an element in the top tray (slide down...

Can't get Android Auto to work

I recently got a 2018 Accord EX-L and have yet to be able to get Android Auto to work with my OnePlus 5T. When I hook the phone up to the car, I get the window asking whether I want to enable Android Auto for the device. It then shows a "Connect" button, but when I tap it, the phone vibrates to...

    Data usage indicator

I got a text from my carrier today that I was getting close to my monthly data limit (which I've never come close to), so I finally took a look at the settings on the phone for reviewing usage. What's weird is that if I go to the Data Usage section within Settings, the initial indicators says...

Google Play Services calling for GPS Location A LOT

I was about to post a similar question - I frequently get notices that "Google Play services is using GPS." I have location permissions turned off for the app, too. What reason does it have to be using GPS??

    Changing screen for answering calls

This setting may have been there all along and I just wasn't looking in the right place, but within the Phone app Settings is a switch to reverse the answer/decline motion. Even though I've gotten used to the default state, I switched mine to "swipe up to answer" -- principles. ;)

    OnePlus 5T calling/texting problems

I'm not sure this of any help, but I just read this article on Android Central: https://www.androidcentral.com/how-make-sure-your-phone-calls-sound-good-possible One of the paragraphs states: "Of course you'll need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network with internet access to use Wi-Fi calling...

    OnePlus 5T calling/texting problems

I had the same issue with how the base messaging app handles group texts, so I switched to Textra, too. I haven't had the other issues pertaining to calls/messages not being sent (or timely), though. I'm using Cricket, fwiw.

Need help finding Outlook contacts in phone and messaging apps

What was weird was that before I made the change w/in Outlook, Outlook.com wasn't showing in the Settings>Accounts listing. It only showed OneDrive. I even tried deleting OneDrive and the Outlook app and starting over. I don't understand how my email was working w/o showing in the Accounts...

Need help finding Outlook contacts in phone and messaging apps

PGrey - thank you for all that info and for re-energizing me to start working on this again. (I came to the 5T from Windows Phone/Mobile.) I stepped back through various settings to make sure I hadn't missed anything, then did one more quick search online and found someone that had submitted...

    Music gesture with Sonos

I wish I had read some of the forum entries on the OnePlus site before upgrading to Oreo. Looks like many are having similar issues with other music apps (some during the beta phases). I don't know if it's an Oreo issue or that Sonos (and others) need to update their own apps, though.

    Music gesture with Sonos

I've found the music gesture to be extremely useful controlling my Sonos speakers. Play, pause, skip... After updating to Oreo today, it's no longer working. It works if I have something playing directly on my phone (podcast) but no longer controls Sonos. The only difference I can see is...
