After a reboot I'm now able to attach photos to new messages. This is odd, because I had rebooted only a couple hours prior to noticing the problem. My old attachments are still missing, however. Not a big loss, but kind of annoying.

Use NFC Tag Launcher. You can set a number of the settings as toggles, so you wouldn't need a second tag, you'd just have to use the same tag twice. It doesn't work on things like volume settings, only things that can be toggled on and off, like WiFi.

I feel like it doesn't charge as fast as a wired connection too, but it might be a watched pot situation. I've never tried to measure it. I don't know why, but you can download NFC Task Launcher. It has a setting for car dock.

This happened to me. 3G worked and other wifi networks worked, but not my home wifi. I "forgot" my home network and then reconnected to it and it started working again.
